Bodman-Ludwigshafen – Living where others holiday
Bodman-Ludwigshafen is a charming twin municipality with around 4,900 inhabitants, located directly on the shores of Lake Überlingen. Nestled between green mountain ridges and orchards and connected by a unique nature reserve, the community offers an idyllic backdrop for relaxation, leisure and enjoying nature.
Its location on the lake opens up countless possibilities: water sports, cycling, hiking or relaxing hours on the shore. Excursions to the Lake Constance region are also quick and easy thanks to boat, bus and train connections.
An extensive network of hiking trails leads along winding paths to unique natural attractions and historical sites. The SeeGang premium hiking trail promises hiking at the highest level.
The two lidos offer refreshment, while water sports fans get their money’s worth with stand-up paddling, canoeing, sailing, water skiing or wakeboarding.
A diverse infrastructure ensures that everything is within easy reach: from shopping at direct marketers and local retailers to a cosy visit to a restaurant.
Families will find the best care for their children with primary schools and kindergartens in both districts.
Community life is particularly lively: numerous clubs, events and festivals characterise community life and create a warm, open atmosphere.

Special features
Bodman is one of the oldest towns on Lake Constance and gave the lake its name. Grand Duke Ludwig gave the former town of Sernatingen its current name, Ludwigshafen. The municipality’s own ship, the MS Großherzog Ludwig, connects Bodman and Ludwigshafen with all the towns on Lake Überlingen, turning every crossing into a mini holiday experience.
