Municipality of Mühlhausen-Ehingen: The Hegau on your doorstep or also
Two places – ONE municipality – OUR home

Mühlhausen-Ehingen is centrally located, easily accessible and yet away from the crowds of tourists. In recent years, the municipality has developed from a predominantly agricultural town into a residential community.

Mühlhausen-Ehingen is a municipality in Hegau, a landscape characterised by numerous volcanic mountains with their medieval castle ruins. The Mägdeberg rises to the south-west of Mühlhausen. It is definitely worth a visit, whether you want to see the ruins or simply enjoy the beautiful view.

In the choir of St Peter and Paul’s Church in Mühlhausen is the grave of the infamous castle bailiff – the ‘Poppele von Hohenkrähen’, about whom there are numerous legends in Hegau. Bailiff ‘Poppele’ and minstrel ‘Wasmuth’ are each depicted on a fountain in the municipality.

Young families will find two nurseries and a primary school with all-day care here. Numerous clubs with their sports and cultural programmes make the village lively. Bakeries, butchers, two discount grocery stores, a drugstore, a drinks market, several general practitioners and a pharmacy cover everyday needs.

Long-distance hiking trails, the volcano premium hiking trail, the “Rundum” local history trail and the circular trail to the Ursula fountain make the Hegaulandschaft an experience.
